My dining experience was fairly average. 🍽️ The food was acceptable, and the service was also just okay. 🧑🍳 However, the live music added a pleasant touch to the atmosphere. 🎶 It was an alright visit. 😊
I would not recommend the rooftop bar, Shamiana. The prices are surprisingly high—comparable to a luxury 5-star hotel. The music selection was also disappointing, with only basic tracks being played and no option to request songs. My suggestion is to stay at the hotel sarovar but skip the rooftop bar. There are several nearby rooftop restaurants offering delicious food, live folk music and dance performances, a much better atmosphere, and more reasonable prices. Overall, the hotel itself is worth staying at, but you'll likely have a better dining and entertainment experience at one of the nearby rooftop restaurants.
Extremely disappointing experience at Shamiaana. We specifically wanted to dine on the rooftop, but the staff refused to accommodate us. The reason they gave was unbelievable—they said they get tired climbing the stairs to serve guests upstairs. I’ve never heard such an unprofessional excuse from a restaurant. Hospitality is about serving customers, not making them feel like they’re asking for a favor. The staff’s attitude was dismissive, lazy, and completely customer-unfriendly. Instead of finding a solution, they simply chose convenience over service. If a restaurant advertises or has a rooftop dining area but is unwilling to serve guests there because the staff doesn’t want to use the stairs, it reflects very poor management and a lack of basic customer service standards. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. There are plenty of restaurants in Udaipur that genuinely value their customers—I would recommend choosing one of those instead.
This bar was quite disappointing overall. Prior reservations seem pointless, as the staff doesn't appear to care whether you've booked in advance or not. The service is extremely slow, and even simple requests take longer than they should. While the menu looks extensive, the actual stock is very limited, with only a few basic beer options available, such as Kingfisher Ultra and Kingfisher Premium, making it a letdown for those expecting a wider selection of premium beverages. The food is slightly above average and probably the only redeeming factor here. Unfortunately, the slow service and lackluster atmosphere overshadow the experience, making it hard to justify a visit. If you're looking for a similar setup with a much better experience, Sorbo at Regenta is a far better option in terms of service, ambiance, and overall value.
